This is a very heavy, working Canada goose decoy by Ira Hudson (1873-1949). It was probably made around 1900-1910 from a section of a telegraph/telephone/utility pole. Although Hudson for a time lived in New Jersey and Sussex County, DE, he spent most of his life in Chincoteague, Va. He probably made this decoy in that village. As you can see it, has a very old body split, a common sight on this type of decoy.
