William Heverin, Charlestown, Md. 1860-1951.  The majority of Mr. Heverin's decoys were carved from wood brought to him by the buyer.  For this reason, dimensions of the bodies often vary.  This bird is one of his longer carvings, with the body being 14 1/2" long and approx 5 3/4" wide.  There is a small chip from the side of the tail, no neck cracks and several coats of old working repaint with the last coat having been done by Paul Gibson of Havre de Grace Md.
