  • This bird was lot 522 in the November 1988 Richard Oliver auction, held in Easton, Md.  The following is their description.  "A very rare Black Duck by William Kimble, Trenton, NJ. circa 1910.  This very sleek turn-of-the-century decoy is from the collection of William Mackey and bears the Mackey stamp.  Structurally solid with tack eyes.  Well worn original paint with some old in-use over-paint on the head.  See page 151 Floating Sculpture by Huster and Knight."  The bird is solid carved, with the paint flaking off the chest area.
