This shorebird decoy was in the William Mackey Collection and bears his stamp.  It was later in the collection of Porter and Patti Hopkins.  The decoy was made by an unknown carver on the Eastern Shore of Virginia around the end of the 19th century.  It is in wonderful original paint (in the unusual "transition" plummage) and has the original bill.
